Butterflies, Bunnies and Buttercups
PART 1: BUTTERFLIES, BUNNIES AND BUTTERCUPS: THE LAODICEAN DOWNGRADE OF THE JUDGMENT SEAT AND THE TERROR OF THE LORD
(Joey Faust Replies to the new booklet by Herb Evans on the Judgment Seat of Christ)
This paper is not meant to be a complete defense of the doctrine of Millennial Exclusion. The reader is encouraged to purchase my 440 page book on this subject. Brother Herb Evans is a Christian in Pennsylvania who often writes many articles and sends them out through E-mail, etc. He often debates on various Baptist lists. He is mainly known for some good material he has written in defense of King James Onlyism. After attacking my book and repeatedly refusing a public debate, Herb has decided to put together a booklet in response to my book The Rod: Will God Spare It?. The following is my reply to his booklet. May the Lord open his eyes.

Answers to Ron Tottingham
Ron Tottingham, the pastor of Empire Baptist Temple, has written a review of my book ‘The Rod: Will God Spare It.” This review was printed in the Flaming Torch in 2003. Brother Tottingham begins his objections as follows:
“J. D. Faust is universal church and miss-apply many verses due to this doctrinal position.”

Answers to George Zeller Pt 1
Below is an article by George Zeller from Middletown Bible Church, in Middletown, CT. The original article can be found on their web site:
http://www.middletownbiblechurch.org/doctrine/hodgesgn.htm
My response to his objections will follow at the end of his article.
The Punitive View of J.D. Faust, By George Zeller :
“J.D. Faust published a book in 2002 entitled The Rod–Will God Spare It? It is published by Schoettle Publishing Company, the same company that published Joseph Dillow’s book, The Reign of the Servant Kings. It is a publishing house which specializes in authors (such as Govett, Lang, Panton, Pember, etc.) who teach that unfaithful saved people will be excluded from the kingdom (or in Dillow’s case, excluded from reigning with Christ). Many of these men also believe in a partial rapture (not Dillow).

Another Anti-Accountability Diatribe by Herb Evans
Herb Evans, who has written some good things on the King James Bible controversy, has nevertheless been too “hotheaded” to study the issue of accountability at the Judgment Seat properly and soberly. We both believe in eternal security. But he had better face some sobering facts:

Joey Faust Responds to Robert L. Sumner’s Review of The Rod: Will God Spare It?
As modern Christians flee from their warnings and assign them to only “false professors,” they must then strive to prove they are elect (and not only a professor) by a life of good works and “enduring to the end.” Brother Sumner may think he has brought forth enough fruit to think himself a “real” Christian thus far in his life, but he must wait and see what will happen next week. To keep the warnings from applying to the Millennium (and “favoring” an archaic view of Purgatory), Sumner must logically apply the warnings to ETERNITY, and thereby teach salvation assurance through works of righteousness and enduring. The evangelicals and Catholics who joined hands and signed E.C.T. are waiting for Sumner’s signature. They have also largely abandoned literal, temporal punishment in regard to accountability; but they love Sumner’s “strive your whole life to prove you are elect” view of salvation assurance!

34 Scripture Promises From Herb Evans Answsered
These 34 promises (by Herb Evans) are supposed to negate the truth taught in my book “The Rod: Will God Spare It?” This is the answer to his objections.
[10-17-01]
“1. . . . he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. — Heb. 13:5, Joey must say that Christ will leave and forsake carnal Christians.”
This is a NT quote from the OT where God gave this promise and then KILLED a bunch of them for presuming upon Him (Deut.31;6, 8, 29, etc., with Jer.23:9, Lam.5:20-22). And this promise in HEBREWS comes right after the warnings to believers in Hebrews 6, Hebrews 10, and Hebrews 12!:
